Prepare plans for Saline County, which are directed toward the best development of the County; hold public hearings as provided by law; make and recommend policy to the Governing Body in areas of physical and social development; evaluate and recommend necessary rules and regulations as provided by law; hear and make final judgment on applications for Conditional Use Permits, Preliminary Plats, and Subdivision Exceptions; hear and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on applications for Zoning Amendments, Final Plats, Text Amendments, and amendments or addendums to the Comprehensive Plan, exercise all other powers provided by law. The rural resident members of the Planning and Zoning Commission also serve as the Board of Zoning Appeals. The Board of Zoning Appeals shall hear and decide appeals when it is alleged there is an error with respect to the interpretation or application of the regulations made by the Zoning Administration.
